Terms of Service

Effective October 2026. Northwoods Investment LLC, a New Hampshire limited liability company ("we", "us"), runs the Marsh Finder web app (the "App"). By using the App or buying a subscription you agree to these terms.

The short version. The App reads habitat. It shows where marsh, flats and ponds suit puddle ducks, not whether birds are there or will be while you're there. A spot on the map is never permission to hunt it. You can cancel anytime, and you can get a full refund within 30 days of your first payment.

1. What the App is

The App analyzes public wetland, land-cover, building, public-land and road data to estimate where puddle ducks are likely to feed and rest. It ranks those places and suggests how to reach them.

The App does not detect, count or track birds. Whether ducks use a spot on a given day depends on things the App cannot see, including migration, weather, wind, tide, ice, food that year and hunting pressure. Results are estimates from data that can be out of date or imprecise (for example, wetland maps may predate recent changes to a marsh). We make no promise that you will see or take birds at any spot.

2. Hunting law, property and safety

You are responsible for hunting legally and safely. Confirm who owns or controls any land or water you hunt, get permission or permits where required (many Long Island towns require permits for bay bottoms and town wetlands), and follow all New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and federal migratory bird rules. New York law allows shooting a shotgun over water for waterfowl only when no house, building, livestock or person is within 500 feet in your line of fire; the App's building distances are estimates from public data and may miss structures. Suggested parking, walking lines and boat-access notes are guides from public data, not checked routes: roads may be gated, marsh may be soft or flooded, tides and cold water are dangerous, and lines may cross private land. Wear a life jacket on the water and use your own judgment.

4. Refunds

If the App isn't for you, you can get a full refund within 30 days of your first payment, no questions asked, using "Refund my payment" in the Account panel or by contacting us. A refund ends access immediately. This self-serve refund is available once per customer; after that, or after 30 days, contact us and we'll treat requests fairly. Refunds normally appear on your card within 5 to 10 business days.

5. Your account

We identify you by the email you pay with. Sign-in links are personal; don't share them. You may use your subscription on your own devices. One subscription is for one person.

6. Acceptable use

Don't copy, scrape, resell or redistribute the App's maps, rankings or data; don't try to bypass the paywall; and don't interfere with the App's operation. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. Ownership

The App, its software, model, maps and rankings belong to Northwoods Investment LLC and are protected by copyright and other laws. Public source data remains subject to its own terms. Sign pins you log are stored on your phone and stay yours.

8. No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for injury, trespass, citations or losses arising from your hunting or travel decisions. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects paying subscribers, we'll give notice in the App or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the App after that means you accept the change.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
